A year of Roo

Today marks a year since we excitedly got in our car and went to pick up Roo. You can read all about how we found Roo here.

Before getting Roo we had this idea of what owning a dog would look like. Lots of long walks, trips to the beach, pub lunches, taking her to our friends houses with us. Holidays in the UK with her, maybe even going abroad with her once Covid was over. We imagined this energetic but well-behaved, socialable dog.

The reality of life with Roo is quite different. It has been a very emotional, very tiring year.

But we are not here to dwell on the struggles of having Roo. We are hear to share the good times we have had.

Roo has been on so many adventures, she was been to the beach, to the woods, to many parks. Swimming in the river, on a boat on the Norfolk Broads. She was been paddleboarding with us and even on holiday down to Dorset.

Roo has also grown into her own little character. Her teeth get stuck on her lip alot! She fans her ears out like an elephant when she is pleased to see us. She is always happy to see us come home or even just come through from a different room. She is such a good girl with sleeping at nighttime and when we leave her home alone. She loves to play fetch and sniff things out. Roo is amazing at find it.

She knows lots of commands and tricks. She will wait to be released when a dummy is thrown. She can even give kisses on command.

Roo is our little special egg. Whatever her issues and troubles are, they are ours to face together. The three of us. Roo we love you.
